It is hard not to love Emma Stone – she’s just so awesome! She’s one of the few big movie stars that doesn’t act like one. She’s sweet, relatable, funny and down to earth. 10. The Acting Bug

At 15, she used a PowerPoint presentation set to Madonna’s song “Hollywood” to convince her parents to move to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. In her presentation, she mentioned other successful entertainers who started young, like Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Branch.

9. First Job

When Emma and her mother moved to Los Angeles so that she could pursue an acting career, she was initially sent out to a lot of auditions; however, the agency soon stopped calling, so Emma got a job as a baker at a dog treat bakery called Three Dog Bakery. “I think three people called my specific cookies inedible to their dogs,” she told Vanity Fair. “I’m not a super-talented dog baker.”

8. Avid Reader

Her favorite books are J.D. Salinger’s Franny and Zooey and Ernest Hemingway’s A Moveable Feast.

7. Surprising Habit

She was a thumb sucker. “And I sucked my thumb until I was 11, so I had this expander in. I was a good-looking kid. I never felt, like, dorky. I was just like, ‘Yup, these are my braces. I’ve had them forever.

6. Spice Girl

Emma was a huge fan of the Spice Girls when she was growing up. Her favorite Spice Girl was Baby Spice, which is actually how she got her stage name. Stone was actually born Emily Jean Stone, but during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon she revealed she wanted to be called Emma because of her love for Emma Lee Bunton aka Baby Spice. “So growing up I was super blonde, and my real name is Emily but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what? Now I am, so that’s really messed up,” Stone said. “It wasn’t necessarily because of her, but yes, in second grade did I go up to the teacher on the first day and ask her to call me Emma? Yes, I did. Was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes it was.”

5. Nervous Energy

Emma controls her nervous energy by baking. “It’s very controlled. You know, if you put in the same amount of whatever is in the recipe, it will come out all right,” she said.
