Things You Didn’t Know About Khloe Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian is definitely the most likeable of the Kardashian sisters. She’s funny, outspoken and seems less superficial than some of the others. Since she turned 32-years-old today, here are 10 things you didn’t know about the reality TV star:

10. Family and Ancestry

Khloe Alexandra Kardashian was born on June 27, 1984 to Robert, an attorney, and Kris, a homemaker. She has two older sisters, Kourtney and Kim and a young brother, Robert Jr. While her mother is of Dutch, English, Irish and Scottish ancestry, her father was a third generation Armenian American. She has two half-siblings, Kendall and Kylie, from her mother’s marriage to Bruce Jenner.

9. Home Schooled

After her older sisters Kourtney and Kim graduated from their all girl Catholic high school, she decided that she was going to drop out of that school and enroll in home school instead. In addition to forging some paperwork, she was also able to convince her mother that she belonged there. Turns out she was right! She finished high school a year early when she was 17 with honors.

8. The Family Reality Show

Khloe initially wasn’t interested in being part of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. “Kourtney and I didn’t want to do the show,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “We weren’t anti the show, but we were so obsessed with our clothing store [DASH, the clothing and accessories boutique founded by Khloé, Kourtney and Kim in 2006], and I couldn’t imagine having to give that up.” However, E! promised Khloe that they would film inside DASH, so she agreed and quickly began enjoying herself. “That’s why season one is so brilliant – because we didn’t really care. Kourtney and I would say anything and do anything. We didn’t realize it was going to be so big. Nobody did.”

7. Wanting Bigger Boobs

The Kocktails with Khloe star wanted breast implants, but didn’t get them because of her dad. “I went when I was 18 to a consultation and my dad found out and got so mad at me. He died shortly after when I was 19,” she told Complex. “I never did it. I don’t know why I didn’t do it a few years after that, but I’m actually happy because losing weight, I think I could do it. They would look better now.”

6. Driving at 13

She learned to drive when she was just 13 years old. According to her, her mother Kris wanted to make sure she could drive just in case one of the babysitters had an emergency in which case Khloe could be the driver. Unfortunately, this just enabled her rebelliousness. When she was 13-14, she would sneak out of her parent’s house and drive to her older boyfriend’s house for sex.

5. Car Accident

Khloe suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2001 when she went through the windshield during a car accident. She suffered a severe concussion, which caused long-term memory loss, and she also had a leg injury that required reconstructive surgery. “I was wearing my seatbelt but the strap was under my armpit,” she said on her app. “I was in a small Mercedes and it compacted in the wreck. My head and upper body went through the windshield and my legs were stuck under the steering wheel. I still remember hitting the other car, feeling the car spinning, and hitting a pole. I had knee surgery the day of my accident and a couple more after that.”

4. Getting into Exercise

According to the reality TV star, learning to love exercise wasn’t easy, but once she got to that point, she found it really hard to go back to not exercising regularly. “The first 45 days you’re like, ‘F–k this s–t.’ You’re exhausted, you’re sore, and I actually felt fatter because I was swollen. If you keep going, you’re eventually like, ‘Wow, is that an indentation on my arm?’” she told Women’s Health.

3. Fertility Problems

She has fertility issues. She discussed this in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. About a year ago, we were like, ‘Let’s just see what happens.’ And then when it didn’t happen, Kim was like, ‘Let’s go to the doctor,’” she said. “I found out I don’t ovulate, and now my uterus lining isn’t thick enough and I have to take pills to make my uterus lining thicker. If that doesn’t get thicker, then I cannot carry a baby.”

2. A Spiritual Person

Khloe is a really spiritual person. “I believe with every fiber of my being that there is a higher power. I love theology and I enjoy learning about other people’s religions. I’ve read about Buddhism and the Quran, and I’ve gone to Seder dinners with Jewish friends. One of my exes was Muslim and observed Ramadan, which is a month of fasting. You fast from sunrise to sunset to commemorate the first time the Quran was revealed to Muhammad, and I practiced it with him to be supportive. I don’t believe you need to be a certain religion to embrace someone else’s religion. It’s a matter of respecting someone. I’m a Christian but I don’t think a church necessarily makes you religious,” she wrote in Lena Dunham’s newsletter, Lenny.

1. Getting Fired

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star was part of Celebrity Apprentice back in 2009, but Donald Trump fired her because of her DUI. He reportedly said, “I hate people who drive under the influence,” but Khloe felt that she shouldn’t “have been fired for that reason alone.”
