Ask any Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fan out there and they’ll tell you just how excited audiences are about the return of Salem’s finest bad girl Sami Brady. She was quite the villainess in her younger years, but has turned out to be one of the town’s greatest heroines as of late. Sami had a roller coaster life on the soap and plenty of romances. Below are six of DOOL Sami Brady’s relationships ranked from worst to best.

6. Franco Kelly

In the late 1990s Sami embarked on a relationship with Franco Kelly, a man new to Salem who was looking for a green card. He didn’t like her and her family didn’t like him, but a smitten (and insecure) Sami was in love. They got engaged in the summer of ’98 and almost wed, until Sami found out he was cheating on her with a stripper. Sadly, Franco wound up dead and Sami was almost pinned for his murder (death row and all). Thankfully, during the last remaining moments before lethal injection, she was cleared of these charges.

5. Austin Reed

Sami adored Austin Reed from the moment she came back to Salem after being SORASed (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome). When Sami returned as a teenager, she met Reed and fell hard. Even though Austin was more into her sister Carrie, Sami plotted and schemed to gain Austin’s favor over the years and even managed to marry him once and almost twice. Austin’s heart always belonged to Carrie and, while it did take many years, he finally wised up to Sami’s tricks and ended up with her older sister.

4. Brandon Walker

Brandon Walker was a good guy and had he hooked up with Sami a few years later then he did, these two lovebirds may have made it. However, Sami was still up to her scheming ways when she met and fell in love with Brandon. While the two did make it to the alter, Brandon annulled their marriage hours later after he found out she was blackmailing Lexie Carver to gain access and tamper with the hospital’s computer system.

3. Rafe Hernandez

Rafe and Sami met while Sami was in the witness protection program. He was an FBI agent watching over her and it seemed that the troubled Sami Brady had finally found the handsome knight and shining armour she desperately desired. Rafe was a stand-up guy and the two shared a wonderful relationship together. Unfortunately for Rafe though, Sami couldn’t shake the romantic hold E.J. DiMera had on her. Despite the fact that Rafe treated Sami like a queen and loved her kids as his own, Sami cheated on him with E.J. and ruined their relationship.

2. Lucas Roberts

Lucas and Sami go back, way back! The two met as teenagers and would carry an on-and-off relationship for years. He’s the father of two of her kids (Ally and Will) and in a lot of ways, one of her soul mates. Their emotional paths were quite similar, starting off as ‘bad seeds’ and evolving into some great characters. While Sami loved Lucas, E.J. DiMera was once again a huge factor in their relationship. He could somehow always sway her away from Roberts in the end.

1. E.J. DiMera

Ah, E.J. DiMera! The real reason Sami’s other relationships never worked out. He’s the father of her other two kids (Johnny and Sydney) and the two had a crazy roller coaster relationship. They started off really hating each other and DiMera even forced Sami into sleeping with him to save her then-love Lucas. Alas over the years the hate turned into a love-hate chemistry between these two, which would eventually turn into just love. Sadly, E.J. passed away in 2014, but with Sami returning shortly maybe he can come back from the dead and these two can rekindle this incredible, yet often perplexing, romance.
