Some housewives are mellow and kind, but that seldom makes for great television. Real Housewives place their chaotic lives in front of the camera for the whole world to see. With that exposure comes judgment and criticism. As determined by a poll from RealityWives.net these are the Top Ten Most Hated Real Housewives.

10. Ramona Singer – New York City – 397 votes

Constantly catty and often disrespectful, Ramona has caused riffs with nearly every cast member during each season of the show. She is known for her love of white wine and her habit of stretching her bulging eyes. She makes sure to be the cast hypocrite in criticizing her other housewives and making herself a definite fan enemy.

Vicki is known for boasting about her successful insurance career to the other housewives. While protective of her daughter, she was so over-bearing it resulted in her daughter’s running off to elope. She also has a mean streak with younger women who threaten to join her inner circle. She is now no longer married.

Originally appearing as a friend to the cast members, Glanville soon came on to replace original member Camille Grammer. She is known on the show for having an ongoing feud with cast member Adrienne Maloof, yet never quite elaborates on the cause. As a mother, she is commonly criticized for her partying ways. Outside of the show she is known for being the ex-wife of Eddie Cibrian, the current husband of LeAnn Rimes.

Open and honest about her longtime affair with a married man known as “Big Papa” this wig-donning housewife was never a “wife” for the majority of her time on the show. She engaged in a tumultuous friendship with fellow member NeNe, and was accused of failing to pay cast member and songwriter Kandi for her work. Zolciak married football player Kroy Biermann and their wedding began a spin-off for her own show.

6. Tamra Barney-Judge – Orange County – 643 votes

Answering a casting call, Barney-Judge joined the cast in season 3. She is most notorious for bullying other cast mates while playing the victim in confrontations. After the filming of season 5, Tamra’s husband Simon Barney filed for divorce claiming she cheated and was disloyal. She is now married to Eddie Judge. On the show, she has an ongoing battle with cast member Gretchen.

5. Danielle Staub – New Jersey – 650 votes

Staub came into the show as the only unmarried member. She was also a relative stranger compared to the other women. Initially distrusted because of her suspicious past, she quickly proved to be the main enemy of the cast. She attempted to cause a rift between member Jacqueline and her sisters-in-law, Dina and Caroline. In the second season she pressed charges against Jacqueline’s daughter Ashley citing assault and harassment. Staub did not return for the third season.

This housewife and mean girl started with the New York cast in the first season. The hatred for Zarin comes from the fact that she constantly makes petty insults about the other women. When another housewife is successful, she does everything to play down the accomplishment. She also likes to butt into the business of the other cast members, using it as a means to insult them even further.

With the removal of cast enemy Danielle Staub, Teresa was set to take the title with the introduction of her estranged family members. She has yet to mend a feud with her brother and sister-in-law and has carried feuds with almost every other housewife. Often the scapegoat for the other women’s “hurting” Teresa became the most disliked member of the cast. Despite the disdain she has gone on to become a best-selling author.

Perhaps it is her sassy attitude or the fact that she loves to brag about her success, but NeNe managed to take the role of “most hated” on the series. Her on-again off-again relationship with best friend Kim ended in a physical altercation between the two. In the later seasons she isolated herself from the rest, making her more of a target. NeNe is the only housewife to divorce her husband and remarry him. Like her former friend Kim, NeNe also has a wedding spinoff planned.

1. Michaele Salahi – D.C. – 1,284 votes

Her other cast members despised her as one who took the spotlight and hogged the show. This could stem from the fact that Salahi is most known for having crashed the White House state dinner and greeting President Barack Obama. The Salahis lied their way through a security breach, sparking national outrage. If that’s not bad enough Salahi’s husband Tareq once reported her missing only to discover she had run off with rock guitarist Neal Schon. She divorced her husband and became engaged to Neal the following year.
