Kate Middleton honored her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, by replicating one of her iconic blue ensembles from the ’90s!
The Duchess joined her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, on his mini-tour of Scotland on Monday. The duo visited the social care charity Turning Point Scotland in North Lanarkshire.
For the occasion, the Duchess opted for a monochrome royal blue ensemble which many fans immediately associated with Lady Diana. Kate’s version of the look included a blazer from Zara paired with a pleated midi skirt from Hope. Kate paired the look with the mini Roma clutch by Métier.
The look was nearly identical to an iconic look Princess Diana wore in 1992 down to the buttons and pleats on the skirt. One difference, however, is that Kate opted to style the look with nude heels while Diana opted for matching royal blue heels.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be spending the week in Scotland touring various areas including the island of Orkney and will also make a visit to the college town where they met, St. Andrews.
During a speech that the Duke made on Saturday, he recalled the range of memories he associates with Scotland including the sadness he felt when learning of the passing of his mother while in Balmoral, but also the warm memories of how he met Kate nearly two decades ago in Scotland.
“Alongside this painful memory, is one of great joy. Because it was here in Scotland – twenty years ago this year – that I first met Catherine,” he said.
