Matthew Perry and his fiancée Molly Hurwitz have officially decided to call it quits.
According to PEOPLE, it’s been confirmed that Perry has called off his engagement. “Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them,” Perry said, in a statement. “I wish Molly the best.”
Fans will recall that Perry, 51, and Hurwitz, 29, began dating back in 2018. The two got engaged two years later in November 2020. At the time, Perry opened up to PEOPLE about the engagement sharing, “I decided to get engaged. Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”
The news of Perry and Hurwitz’s split comes just shortly following the much-anticipated Friends cast reunion. The special episode featured Perry and his costars reuniting on the beloved sitcom’s original soundstage in Burbank, California. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer were all in attendance alongside Perry as well as quite a few special celebrity guests.
The Friends reunion special is now streaming on HBO Max.
