Passions alum Dana Sparks has been cast for a role on The Young and the Restless.
Sparks will be playing the recurring character of Dr. Lena Cavett, a specialist who works with stroke patients. We will likely see Dr. Cavett working at Genoa City Memorial hospital alongside Dr. Elena Dawson and Dr. Nate Hastings.
The storyline will involve Dr. Cavett being hired by Adam to assist in the recovery of Chelsea following the stroke that left her paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak.
Sparks described her character to Soap Opera Digest as “Direct but kind,” and added, “I play her as doing the best she can to help the situation, whether it’s being honest or encouraging. She’s very grounded and in a very understanding, compassionate way.”
Soap opera fans will best remember Dana Sparks for her roles on Passions as Grace Bennett, wife of Sam Bennett, as well as the role of her twin sister, Faith, who later passed away in a fire.
Sparks’ first scenes as Dr. Cavett will air on The Young and the Restless on Thursday, January 7.
