Over the weekend, Reality Steve announced that Clare Crawley would be the next Bachelorette, but the news wasn’t confirmed until Monday, March 2, on Good Morning America that she would be the next lead.

Ahead of The Bachelorette‘s premiere on May 18, Reality Steve has tweeted some need-to-know spoilers regarding the potential suitors.

According to Reality Steve’s tweets from February 29, He has the ages of the 14 potential love interests. “Their ages are 28, 28, 25, 23, 28, 30, 40, 28, 31, 33, 26, 26, 28, and 28,” he wrote. However, in the same tweet, he added, It’s possible not all of them make it on, maybe some will drop out/get cut, but that’s what I’ve got.”

Typically the Bachelorette is someone around the age of 23, but Crawley’s seasons will be different as she is older than the norm. The 38-year-old recently addressed her age, saying, “I feel like a lot of people put it out there as this negative thing. For me, it’s just more years under my belt. More years learning and knowing what I want and what I won’t settle for.”

Regarding both Crawley’s age and some of the suitors’ ages, it appears that the Bachelorette producers have decided to cut a few 25-year-olds – one potential suitor was Jackson Canfield.

Canfield addressed the news on March 2 in a lengthy Facebook post.

“Hi guys,” he began. “Upon the news from GMA this morning… wanted to simply shed some light on obvious questions being asked regarding a certain show, regarding a certain 🌹… just wanted people to hear it from me.

Canfield continued, “I got the call explaining the sudden changes being made in the direction of who was to be chosen for the bachelorette. In their words, in light of the significant age difference, compared to the original possible candidates, they decided to forgo younger guys, aka me, moving forward with the show.”

That same day, Reality Steve revealed that casting is still happening for Crawley’s season this week, and previously stated that “[the Bachelorette producers] are definitely going to be” casting “more older guys.”

In response to one follower who asked, “I’m really wondering if they are able to get older guys that already have kids/ don’t want any, or maybe divorced. Those young guys won’t work for her,” Reality Steve revealed that four older men with children have been cast already.

“As of right now, of the guys that I have, 4 of them have kids. And they are definitely going to be doing some late casting of more older guys this week after Monday’s announcement. They’ve already told a couple of the 25 year olds they’re no longer cast bc of the age difference,” he shared on March 1.

The Bachelorette is set to premiere on May 18 on ABC.
