Will the holiday season equate to a happy family reunion for Chad and Abby, or more drama? Could Mariah and Devon feel shafted? What kind of chaos will Chelsea bring upon her return to Genoa City? The Young and the Restless (Y&R) fans just love to speculate on storylines! As such, below are some Y&R plotline predictions for December 2021.

12. Chance Returns Just In Time For The Holidays

Chance is set to return to the canvas in late November. Abby will likely bring him home to Genoa City in early December. Fans should expect some feel-good scenes as he reunites with family, friends and is finally introduced to Dominic. Things will go well in December, with some potential red flags peering out, here and there.

11. Chance Isn’t His “Good Old” Self

Chance may have slight amnesia or suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) when he comes back to the little town. Either way, he’ll put on a brave face, but won’t exactly be “himself”. Abby will try to push any negative thoughts out of her mind; after all, she finally has her husband back and the two of them can start enjoying Dominic and all the duties of taking care of him together.

10. Others Take Notice

With that said, Adam will start to take notice, and he’ll be genuinely concerned. He’s known Chance for a long while, and the two have tremendous history. Nina (as well as Jill and, of course, the Moustache) may also feel uneasy about some habits they’re seeing from Chance. Perhaps Devon will also spot something that Abby does not.

9. Devon Will Be Bitter

It’ll be sweet seeing “Chabby” celebrate all the “firsts” this holiday season, alongside Dominic. One person who may not be all warm and fuzzy about it is Devon. He’ll be (unintentionally) shafted from the baby’s life. Chance needs to bond with the child, and out of that need, Abby will nicely thank Devon for all his help but also request that he step away from baby-caring duties.

8. Chance May Resent Devon

Devon has been dubbed “the baby whisperer”, as he’s been able to calm Dominic down whenever the baby has been fussy. Chance may have low-key resentment towards the baby’s sperm donor. Devon’s not only the child’s bio dad, but has also bonded significantly with him. He also knows “more” about the infant and his needs than Chance does. This could rub Mr. Chancellor the wrong way.

7. Mariah Pushes Abby Away

Mariah might not be overly pleased that Chance is back. She’ll be “happy” for Abby, but a tad resentful. She’ll be pushed even further out of Dominic’s life and may end up reeling as a result. Could she decide to lash out at Abby, out of mere rage? Could the “Chabby” reunion effectively erase the friendship and bond that she and Abby have? In retaliation, could Abby cut off all ties with Mariah, thus cutting Copeland off from Dominic?

6. Chelsea Returns With A Focus On Her Family

Chelsea will return to Genoa City in mid-December, just before Christmas hits! Y&R spoilers imply she’ll also be working closely with Chloe and Sally at Newman Media. Lawson has missed out on so much with Connor, and she’s always had a bond with Adam, despite their recent past. Will Lawson have a renewed focus on winning Adam back and reuniting her family?

5. The Nick Newman Factor

Chelsea will arrive on the scene to find another ex-love suddenly single. If she wants to move on from Adam, she can easily move forward with Nick. Even if she wants to “get back” at her ex, a way to do this could be by hooking up with Nick. Nick has always had a soft spot for Chelsea, and will easily fall for anything she has to say. He’s vulnerable right now, and falling back into a relationship with Chelsea would be “easy” for him.

4. Will Sharon and Nick Bond?

Then there’s the idea that Nick could fall back into a “thing” with Sharon. It’s been hinted at, and these two always seem to navigate closer to each other when they are friends. The only thing is, Nick is friends with Rey, who happens to be Sharon’s husband. Would “Shick” ever cross a line, knowing how betrayed Rosales would feel? Maybe if they got “caught up” in a moment…

3. Dylan Returns For The Holidays!

Actor Steve Burton (who played Jason Morgan) has recently announced his departure from GH. Many fans have speculated that he could jump ship to Y&R. Burton left the show due to ABC’s health mandate, and fellow co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (who plays Alexis Davis) made it known on Twitter that GH is the only soap opera with such a policy in place. So, could Steve reprise his Dylan McAvoy character just in time for Christmas? It would floor viewers, and turn Sharon’s life upside down! Not to mention, it would be an incredible stunner for mom, Nikki Newman.

2. Phyllis and Jack Come Together

The holidays are a fun time of year. They can also be a very romantic time of year. Who else is predicting a “Phack” reunion on Christmas Eve? Jack’s a sweet and thoughtful man. He’s probably already finished up Phyllis’ holiday gift shopping, and once he presents her with his gift(s), it may make her heart melt. Could the two spend the night together, waking up in each other’s arms on Christmas Day?

1. Ashland’s Decline

Could Ashland suffer from an unexpected health decline in December? Will something tragic happen right before Christmas? Y&R loves to level up the drama during this season. What if Locke passes away next month? This would leave Vicky heartbroken and lost, especially if it happens on the cusp of the holiday season.
